Upon returning, he soon added two Grammys to his first. While he does not have a dynamic stage presence, Perahia’s rich playing communicates plenty with the keys alone: Notes leap for joy or crash to the ground. Perahia speaks on Monday at Duke and on Tuesday performs a program of selections by Bach, Beethoven, Schumann and Chopina set sufficiently Romantic for Perahia.
