WOLFMOTHER
LINCOLN THEATREThree Aussies with massive Orange amps and perfect tom rolls, Wolfmother rose above placement as either Ozzfest flotsam or hipster-metal-cred building blocks with one deceptively simple idea: Strong hooks pulled through fresh bongwater as Sabbath, Zeppelin and, who knows, Deep Purple spins in the background. True, they’ve inherited more psychedelic notions than the placement of their “Woman” on mod-rock radio betrayed, but they get to the point first and the sonics second. Live, these guys are capable of being completely triumphant. Tickets are $25 for the 8 p.m. show. Grayson Currin
