CAT’S CRADLESince Little Brother’s second album, 2005’s The Minstrel Show, the Durham trio has experienced several major changes. The Minstrel Show was their first and perhaps last album to be released on a major label, and, though its cover depicted a trio, the group is now officially a duo consisting only of emcees Phonte and Big Pooh. For The Getback, their third album now in mixing, they’ve recruited outside producers, having finally forgone the jazz-and-soul softshoe of in-house producer 9th Wonder. There’s a strong chance you’ll catch some of those new sounds tonight at this free, Scion-sponsored event. Get there much earlier than the 9:30 p.m. start. Register at for this 21+ show.
