Torche
KingsMiami’s Torche is a metal enigma: As crushing as Sleep, as catchy as Karp and as versatile as the Melvins, they’ve even been deemed “stoner pop.” As absolutely terrifying as it sounds, the coinage isn’t far from the truth. Their monolithic self-titled debut wasn’t just Top Five material for metal in 2005; it was Top Five material for 2005, period. Their live show is even worlds beyond that. Expect guitars de-tuned to Z, jarringly brutal drums and openly gay frontman Steve Brooks to make Eyehategod look like sissies. Black Tusk and Tooth share the bill. Tickets are $7-$9 for the 9 p.m. show. Rich Ivey
