Shout Out Louds
Cat’s CradleListening to Our Ill Wills, the second album from Swedish quintet the Shout Out Louds, is like hearing an oxymoron unfold: For every gushy, neurotic protest found in lead singer Adam Olenius’ shaky vocals, there’s an equal, opposing burst of optimism streaming from his band’s cheer. Elegance aplenty emerges from such melodrama, as SOL’s chiming guitars and sparkling piano lines transform indie gloom and doom into joyful chamber-pop explosions. With Johnossi and Nico Vega at 9 p.m. for $10-$12. Kathy Justice
