Dar Williams
Cat’s CradlePlucked from the coffeeshop circuit by Joan Baez in the ’90s, Dar Williams spouts streams of engaging reflections on life. With clear stories and a voice to match, Williams is a modern matron of alt folk. Her mature, wise songs are shaped by experience, but with a glimmer of hope and an explorative sense of melody. Guitarists Joshua Radin and Jesse Harris join Williams on this tour. Radin treats songs like a relationship on the brink of failure, delivering them in a beautiful and caring sing-song whisper, as if he is scared they will break if examined too harshly. Harris tinges his music with a melancholic jazz languor. He wrote five tracks on Norah Jones’ breakout Come Away with Me. Pay $22-$25 at 8 p.m. Andrew Ritchey
