Local 506Ryan Bingham’s 2007 Lost Highway release, Mescalito, earned him much end-of-year love. The sound is good ol’ roots rockdusty guitars, banjo visitations, a lively backbeat, train-whistle harmonica. What elevates Bingham’s output, though, is a voice that sounds like it might have ridden hard into Austin on a whistling train. That is, it betrays too many miles for its age. Locals American Aquarium and Kennebec round out an exceptional bill. It’s a 9 p.m. start, and $8 gets you in. Rick Cornell
