Memorial Auditorium, Progress Energy CenterFor what seems like a small eternity, Broadway Series South has been promoting the coming of the touring production of the Tony-winning musical based on the life of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons. And, well … they might have a point. The original Broadway production earned both a Tony and a Grammy and is still going strong. The uncanny re-creation of the Four Seasons is something that appeals to both baby boomers and younger audiences who finally understand why their parents’ music was once considered cool. Incidentally, the book was co-written by Marshall Brickman, a former collaborator of Woody Allen’s who co-wrote Annie Hall, Sleeper and Manhattan, among others. The performance runs through July 18; for more information, visit www.broadwayseriessouth.com. Zack Smith
