Max Indian

Busy Bee CafeYou Can Go Anywhere, Do Anything, the terrific debut by retro-leaning Carrboro quintet Max Indian, obscures its memorable melodies with murky production to great effect. Live, the hazy production clears, which allows the ringing guitar harmonies and subtle organ fills of those classic pop-rock nuggets to shine. Drummer James Wallace is all over his kit with Animalistic attacks on the skins, and he and keyboardist Jeff Crawfordwho’s seems to be in every Orange County band these daystightly harmonize with Carter Gaj’s casual vocals. You’ll be humming along within minutes, and you might not stop for days. The free show begins at 9 p.m in The Hive, upstairs from Raleigh’s new favorite deli, The Busy Bee. Spencer Griffith
