The Collection Connection
N.C. Museum of Art–With several area schools either on one of their year-round interims or emptying for an entire summer break, kids now have a chance to enjoy the resources in their extended backyards. The Collection Connection at the N.C. Museum of Art is such a tool. The center offers children the chance to connect with the museum’s work through multimedia extension–computerized puzzles of all the museum’s pieces, specialized museum tours, and themed activities focused around specific exhibitions. The Connection also hosts specialty days for kids, and today’s “Crafts for Little Guys” is just one example: Let your children (ages 4-7 only, please) explore ideas for their own art. Admission is free, and it begins at 10 a.m.
