Hello Penis: A Man-ifesto
Manbites Dog TheaterYou can think of Hello Penis as “Puppetry of the Penis”in the metaphorical sense. Created and performed by Joseph Baker and Kevin Poole, this “man-ifesto” puts a magnifying glass to the male psyche through two men’s relationships with brothers, fathers, friends and lovers. Expect a twisted interpretation of gender issues through movement, spoken word and text. Tonight’s show is “pay-what-you-can” ($5 minimum) for an 8:15 p.m. start. Visit www.manbitesdogtheater.org. Boris with Michio Kurihara, Damon & Naomi
Cat’s CradleJapanoiser Boris uses brute volume to its paint-peeling, guitar-hum advantage. But Damon and Naomi rose from Galaxie 500 to a own repertoire of more nimble psych-folk. Friend Kurihara was guitarist for both White Heaven and Ghost and best plays with coloring things instead of always striving for stormy bluster.
