ADAM FRANKLIN
LOCAL 506Swervedriver fans rejoice at former frontman Adam Franklin’s return from the ambient electronic Toshack Highway, where he’s hidden out since Swervedriver’s dissipation in 1999. Franklin’s solo debut, Bolts of Melody, returns to the hook-driven rock of his earlier days. And though not as loud or effects-ridden as his old rig (Franklin even sounds like Elliott Smith on “Song of Solomon”), the album’s strong melodicism and songwriting herald a welcome comeback. *SONS and Dawn Chorus open at 9 p.m. for $8.
