The N.C. Attorney General’s office fined Women’s Voices Womens Vote $100,000 for robocalls placed by the group earlier this year and barred it from operating in the state before the November election, according to a press release issued by the AG’s office today. The group placed the calls before the May primary misleading voters about their registration status, and possibly deterring them from voting. Nor did the calls disclose the group’s identity, the reason for the call and the group’s contact info–all required by law.

The money will go to N.C. schools.
