This erotically charged film explores the shifting boundaries between fantasy and desire, when successful, brilliant 20-something computer engineer Richard Longman (Peter Sarsgaard) uses his money to entice Florence (Molly Parker), a smart, hip, 20-something rock chick (who moonlights at Pandora's Box, an upscale strip club) into a sexual arrangement. Having paid Florence for a lap dance, Richard is smitten, offering her $10,000 to accompany him to Las Vegas. There they engage in a series of erotic encounters where she's allowed to set the rules: no kissing on the mouth, no penetration, no discussions of feelings. But it's not long before the lines between role playing and real connection are blurred in this exploration of sexual power and pleasure versus emotional connection. See "Opening Friday" for theaters.
