N.C. State CampusIt’s appropriate to discuss how beautiful Anoushka Shankar is in writing about her music, primarily because it’s given her irrefutable sitar mastery the inside track. The only musician trained completely by her father, Ravi Shankar, Anoushka has gilded the same interest in Indian classical music that he created four decades ago, using her pedigree and her beauty to set the stage. A student of her instrument for 18 of her 25 years, she’s risen to the expectations and is succeeding in relegating some of India’s cultural buzz to its rich musical past.
