Dave Schmitt‘s presence as sound engineer in the Triangle music scene encouraged the prosperity of many of our brightest local lights. Nantucket, The Fabulous Knobs, Southern Culture on the Skids, and Dexter Romweber all benefited from his assistance and sound advice. It follows that Schmitt is being heralded in this second fundraiser show for the medical work he requires.

The first show, held at Local 506, was a great success. “Dave Aid,” slated for the Cat’s Cradle on Saturday, looks to be a full night of local entertainment, with lively emcee Hoppy Newton keeping the atmosphere fun. The lineup includes glam-rockers Snatches of Pink, former Knobs’ member Terry Anderson’s Olympic Ass-Kickin’ Team, garage punks The Spinns, and S.C.O.T.S, among many others. The show starts at 6 p.m. and costs $10. For full roster and more info, visit www.catscradle.com.
