Not just a Triangle treasure, Raleigh’s Demonbeach Records–the immaculate conception of Jennifer Love and Clifton Lee Mann, who has done his time in Pipe, The Bad Checks, The Ghost of Rock and now Chrome Plated Apostles–is one of the few standing national monuments to the sheer power of rock ‘n’ roll. Three of its principles converge at Local 506 on Monday, Aug. 22. Dexter Romweber still preaches from the pulpit of his own blues-injected, soul-spirited rock, which makes Throw Rag one of his most noteworthy disciples–five sweat-and-kerosene-soaked California numskulls charged nightly with the enviable task of getting loud, down and dirty. They’re both Mann’s bands, so he and The Apostles will open.
