In 1998, the City of Durham’s number crunchers created the inaugural report on “The State of Durham’s Economy.” Dense with charts and graphs, the now 10-year-old annual report takes a microscope to facts and figures that define the city’s population, workforce, growth patterns, wages, tax base, employers and other factors that influence the Bull City’s overall financial health. In addition to chronicling past and current numbers, the report also offers projections about the future. The entire 2007 report is online at www.cassell.com/sode/SODE_2007.html.
