Our endorsement for Barry Jacobs’s at-large seat on the Board of Commissioners goes to Sally Greene. (Jacobs, who opted not to seek reelection, is likewise supporting Greene). We’re impressed by Greene’s experience as a three-term Chapel Hill Town Council member who crafted policies around housing and homelessness. She not only demonstrated a deep understanding of issues currently facing the board but also offered detailed approaches to addressing them, and given her time on the town council, we know she can deliver.

For the District 2 seat, we’re endorsing incumbent Earl McKee. McKee has shown he isn’t afraid to challenge the popular consensus, but he is open to having his mind changed. We appreciate his attention to schools, affordable housing, and thoughtful development. And every board needs a contrarian.
