I just read your article about the overcharging of Orange Correctional Center inmates for rides to work (“Orange Correctional Center inmates getting taken for a ride,” July 12). It is generally a good article, and I hope DOC finds some cheaper transportation for these folks. Still, I was taken aback by the following sentence: “However, [George Rochelle] is related to Frank Edward Rochelle, the registered agent of Reliable Transportation Services in Rockingham County, who has a criminal record stemming from a 1992 misdemeanor assault conviction.”
I do not represent or know George Rochelle, but even if he is overcharging inmates, that was a pretty cheap shot. Your article is compelling enough without stooping to the tactic of trying to make George Rochelle guilty by association.
