I’m writing to thank you for including me as Best District Attorney in the Indy‘s Best of the Triangle issue (June 14). I prosecuted the Johnston County case against the Aero 14, and as I told Patrick O’Neill, it was the most interesting day I’ve ever had in district court. The late Rev. Bill Finlator testified, as did Dan Pollitt. And of course, I had the distinct pleasure of meeting the Aero 14. It is heartening to see that we still have people who are committed to their beliefs, regardless of the consequences. Mike Reece, the defense attorney, brought me a Stop Torture Now T-shirt shortly after the trial, and the rest is history. I’ve enjoyed sharing the article with family and friends, who are suitably impressed with my new stature! Thanks so much.
