I would like to thank the Independent for setting itself apart from the mainstream by including an article about the grassroots effort to support Ron Paul (“Signs of the times” by Gerry Canavan, Feb. 13).
Paul’s campaign has been consistently undermined by a lack of media coverage, so I applaud the fact that nearly a full page was used to highlight the work behind it.
Though I don’t necessarily agree with the assumption that “imminent apocalypse” is upon us, having experienced life abroad throughout the events of the recent years, I do believe that Paul’s ideals of noninterventionism and nonaggression make him the best candidate to restore our country’s world standing.
Perhaps by considering balanced sources outside the corporate controlled television news media, we may find the message that many of the solutions to our current woes were drafted in the Constitution more than two centuries ago.
