Tom Campbell, producer and moderator of the blog NC SPIN, will host a panel about Amendment 1 on Monday, April 30, 5–7 p.m., in Bay 7 at the American Tobacco Campus in Durham. Panelists include state Rep. Deborah K. Ross, UNC law professor Maxine Eichner and the Rev. Patrick L. Wooden Sr., Pastor of the Upper Room Church of God in Christ.
The Community Church of Chapel Hill UU, 106 Purefoy Road, is hosting Emma’s Revolution Fundraising Concert on Friday, May 4, at 7:30 p.m. This Standing on the Side of Love event concert will kick off the final events leading up to the May 8 vote. Tickets are $15 in advance, $18 at door.
On Saturday, May 5, at noon, No H8 NC’s Protest for Marriage Equality will be held at the State Capitol Building and Legislative Plaza in Raleigh. The same day, OutRaleigh 2012 begins at 10 a.m. The LGBT Center of Raleigh is hosting the street festival, which has the theme “All Families Matter.” The free, family-friendly day-long event includes musical and comedic performances, speeches, DJs and vendors.
