An early voting event, Raleigh AGAINST Amendment 1, happens on Friday, April 27, 3-6 p.m. at Roberts Park Community Center, 1300 E. Martin St. This is in conjunction with Respect My Vote and Eargasm Entertainment.
Couples (gay or straight) who want to participate in a commitment/ recommitment ceremony can do so Saturday, April 28, 7 p.m. at Binkley Church, 1712 Willow Drive, Chapel Hill. The ceremony will be followed by a reception. Couples who want to participate or witness are welcome, as well as volunteers to plan the event. The Local Bites for Civil Rights Durham Food Truck Rodeo happens Sunday, April 29, 1–5 p.m. at Durham Central Park. Ross, UNC law professor Maxine Eichner and the Rev. Patrick L. Wooden Sr., pastor of the Upper Room Church of God in Christ.
On Friday, May 4, beginning at 5:30 p.m., the Community Church of Chapel Hill, UU, 106 Purefoy Road, is hosting Emma’s Revolution Fundraising Concert. Tickets are $15 in advance or $18 at the door for this Standing on the Side of Love event.
No H8 NC’s Protest for Marriage Equality holds a rally at the State Capitol Building and Legislative Plaza on Saturday, May 5, at noon.
Also on Saturday, May 5, the LGBT Center of Raleigh celebrates OUTRaleigh2012. The theme of this year’s street festival is All Families Matter.
