My husband-to-be and I met on April 5, 1944, in the lobby of the Drake Hotel in Chicago, Ill. Bill Epple was a musician (a percussionist) with the Bill Snyder Orchestra during World War II. I was dancing with a marine officer as the orchestra played in the Camellia House Supper Club. Bill and I noticed one another … that lead to our first date. I am 90 now; Bill has passed on.
