Whats in a name? For Moxie Kids owners Penny Ashley-Lawrence and Gina DeFrank, a name means everything. The Moxie serves a two-fold purpose: the Moxie refers to not only the drive and determination of the two Raleigh mothers to create a fresh and unique approach to a childrens boutique, but the Moxie also refers to the spirit and spunk of children through statements of style.
Like many of their customers, Penny and Gina are mothers of small children. Tired of the colorless and unimaginative clothes bought from big-name stores, they conceived the idea of Moxie Kids over many carpools, play dates and toddler tantrums.
With the passion and desire for fashion, Moxie Kids opened in August 2007 offering contemporary apparel, shoes, toys, and dcor for ages 0-8. With function and comfort in mind, Moxie has a colorful and charming selection of boys and girls clothing from designers Tea Collection, Small Paul, Splendid Little, Oilily, Kit + Lili and Paperwings.
