“Our colorful carpets and unique designs will compliment any room.”

Nomadic Carpet Imports recently opened its doors in Carrboro, and brings 84 years of carpet experience to the Triangle. Located at 311 E. Main St. in Carrboro, Sukru Ugurlu, owner, has been busy importing the finest quality carpets from Persia, Turkey, Pakistan, and Azerbaijan. In keeping with the tradition that his grandfather began in Konya, Turkey, Sukru only sells carpets that are handmade from 100% wool and all-natural dyes. Since each is handmade, every carpet is one-of-a-kind with a majority of the selection being tribal in design. While specializing in antique and contemporary carpets, Nomadic Carpet Imports has a wide variety that will fit any style.

Recently Nomadic Carpet Imports added several different collections to its inventory. Visible through the window front and lining the store walls are beautiful antique home furnishings such as tables, chairs, and bookcases imported from around the world. An assortment of unique handmade shoes and purses, imported from Turkey, adorn the middle aisle. But the real treasure is found on the rear wall which hosts an incredible assortment of antique jewelry from the Middle East. There are silver rings, necklaces, bracelets and belts, most of which are considered museum quality. Nomadic Carpet’s variety of stock is what makes it standout when compared to similar businesses in the area.

Whether you have recently moved into a new home, a new apartment, or are simply looking to add color to a particular room, Nomadic Carpet Imports has what is important to you.
