University Photo’s history can be traced all the way back to 1911 to a photo shop on Franklin Street started by R. W. Foister. While the shop has changed names, locations, merchandise, and owners over the years, the concept of providing outstanding professional photofinishing and customer service is still the cornerstone of the business.

Our current services include processing color, B & W, and slide films from 35 mm to 4×5 sheet film in-house, custom darkroom printing, oversize prints up to 24″ wide, and a wide array of digital services including scanning, printing or making slides from any digital media, and photo restorations – all with the consistency and attention to detail that our customers have come to expect.

One new service will be photography classes. Our job is to de-mystify the technology for the beginners, show experienced people techniques that will enhance their pictures, and everyone how to print and preserve their memories. We will offer “buyer’s guide” seminars in December and then follow up with training classes after the first of the year.

In addition to being a photo lab, we also offer custom framing. Brendan Love, our new Frame Shop Manager, is not only a top-notch custom framer but an accomplished artist as well, with both his framing and art works on display in dozens of galleries and museums, and in private collections around the world. If you are looking for someone with an artistic eye and meticulous attention to detail to frame your favorite piece of art, photo, or cherished heirloom, plan to come in and talk to Brendan. We can also do frame repair and art restorations.
