We get a lot of poll calls at my house for some reason, about a quarter of them not so much soliciting our opinions as trying to shape them.
This Sunday, the call is from Americans for Tax Reform, an extremely partisan right-wing group founded by Grover Norquist. I didn’t record the call, but the robo-voiced spiel went something like this:
Are you voting in the Nov. 4 election?
Yes.
Do you think it is important for our representatives in the U.S. Senate to make and keep pledges not to raise taxes?
No.
Are you male?
What the — no.
Thank you for your time…
Had I answered the second question correctly, I expect this (PDF) is a version of what I would have heard.
Anybody else getting calls like this?
