It didn’t take long for the Times to catch up with hometown hero Fernando Perez, a season-long highlight for the Durham Bulls who is now on the Tampa Bay post-season roster. Perez, a New Jersey native and Columbia grad, reveals that in his off-hours, he likes to read Annie Dillard, Howard Zinn and… Hermann Hesse.
