Celebrate Women’s History Month at the Hayti Heritage Center with Wimmin@Work2018

Two years ago, choreographer Andrea E. Woods first convened this colloquium of dance, music, poetry, and scholarship in order to gather, celebrate, and share the work of women artists, particularly women of color, during Women’s History Month. The festival was “a way to say, ‘Hey sister wimmin artists, I see you out there working away, and I want the best for you as I do for myself,’” Woods wrote on her SOULOWORKS dance company website. This year’s assembly includes host and spoken word performer Kimberly Gaubault, choreographer Dorothy Clark, slam poet Ashlee Connors, the Winifred Garrett Quartet, singer-songwriter Jasmé Kelly, and the Kristen Taylor Collective.
