Coach Joanne P. McCallie (pictured) is taking her Duke women’s basketball team to Maine, where she starred as a high schooler and then began her career as a head coach, and the Blue Devils will again be heavily favored.

The No. 7 Blue Devils (8-2) had no trouble with the Black Bears (2-6) last season in a 98-31 win at Cameron Indoor Stadium, and Maine would be taking a big step forward if tonight’s 7 p.m. contest is competitive.

The Black Bears are coached by Cindy Blodgett, who starred for the current Duke coach during McCallie’s eight-year tenure at Maine from 1992-2000.
