UNC completes the exhibition portion of its women’s basketball schedule tonight at 7, when Division II Carson-Newman visits the Smith Center at 7 p.m.

Carson-Newman is the alma mater of veteran Tar Heel coach Sylvia Hatchell (pictured), who played both volleyball and basketball for the Eagles and earned her B.S. in physical education there.

The No. 5 Tar Heels topped Francis Marion 105-64 in their first exhibition game on Thursday night.

Carson-Newman has played a pair of exhibitions, falling at Middle Tennessee State 96-68 and at Tennessee 124-34.

The Tar Heels begin regular-season play on Friday night at home against the College of Charleston.
