Over the last couple of years, Raleigh has landed on Zagat‘s list of “Hottest Food Cities” and Durham on “Next Hot Food Cities.” It’s a good time to eat in the Triangle, but next year looks even better. What started as Ali Rudel’s one-woman, home-based operation in 2015 is now slated to have its own brick-and-mortar. The shop will serve pies and hand-pies as well as breakfast and lunch, from seasonal and locally sourced ingredients.

In Amharic, goorsha means expressing love by feeding someone. This new-to-Durham cuisine will include traditional Ethiopian dishes like awaze tibs, doro wot, and injera by a mother-son duo in the kitchen.

Phoebe Lawless, owner of Scratch Baking, is taking on her second venture, a full-service restaurant and bar. The location is also set to include a second Scratch and a wholesale production bakeryalong with a rooftop terrace.

M Kogi and M Taco

Unsurprisingly, from Michael Lee, the same chef behind M Sushi and M Kokko. Kogi will include a sandpit where live fire cooks meats.

SaltBox Seafood Joint
