N.C. Central gets to be a favorite at home for once.
The Eagles (2-15), who have picked up both of their victories this season at home against opposition below the Division I level, will host Tennessee Temple (6-11) of the National Christian College Athletic Association tonight at approximately 8 p.m. in the nightcap of the first night of the BC Powder Classic.
NCCU’s game will follow a 5:30 p.m. contest between CIAA member Chowan (8-4) and Newport News Apprentice School (8-6).
The Eagles are 4-4 all-time in the event. Michael Glasker (pictured) is NCCU’s assist leader.
Tennessee Temple’s only meeting with Division I teams this season were an 84-52 loss at crosstown rival Chattanooga back on Dec. 21 and a 62-52 loss at Samford on Jan. 8.
Tennessee Temple’s individual statistics were not available on the school’s website.
Chowan has four Triangle area players in junior guard Charles Rhodes from East Chapel Hill, sophomore center Zach Hicks from Wake Christian and sophomore guards Jerry Fairley out of Northern Durham and James Young out of Garner.
