
Three Duke players and one from UNC are on the list of weekly football honorees from the ACC released today.
Duke quarterback Thaddeus Lewis shared offensive back of the week honors with Miami’s Jacory Harris, while kicker Will Snyderwine was named specialist of the week and wide receiver Conner Vernon rookie of the week.
The Tar Heels’ Tydreke Powell was named defensive linemen of the week.
Lewis was 24-for-40 for 343 yards and a touchdown in the Blue Devils’ 28-17 win at Virginia on Saturday. Snyderwine hit five field goals of between 25 and 44 yards, while Vernon caught seven passes for 103 yards and the go-ahead touchdown.
Powell was a standout in the Tar Heels’ 20-17 win Thursday night at then No. 14 Virginia Tech, registering a sack, a forced fumble and a deflected pass with three tackles.
Duke (5-3, 3-1 ACC) will visit UNC (5-3, 1-3) on Saturday at 3:30 in a game to be shown on ESPNU.
The ACC’s other weekly award winners were Florida State’s Rodney Hudson (offensive lineman) and Boston College’s Luke Kuechly (defensive back).
