N.C. Central knew it was going to get a big challenge when the Eagles visited Maryland for their women’s basketball opener.
And that turned out to be very true.
Lynetta Kizer had 23 points to lead three Terrapins in double figures as Maryland topped the Eagles 88-39 at Comcast Center.
Tianna Hawkins added 15 points and Diandra Tchatchouang 11 for Maryland in the first meeting between the two teams.
Freshman Joanna Miller (pictured) had 15 points and four rebounds for the Eagles in her first career game. Latoya Bennett chipped in seven points and five rebounds.
The Eagles stay in Maryland for their second game of the season, as they visit Morgan State on Monday.
