UNC basketball kicks off its 100th year of competition with an alumni game Friday at 8 p.m., which will feature many of Carolina’s professional players, including members from both the 2005 and the 2009 NCAA title teams.
Earlier this week, Phil Ford and Pat Sullivan served as general managers for for drafting two teams to compete in the game. The teams follow below:
Blue Team
Shammond Williams
Ed Cota
Ty Lawson
Vince Carter
Dante Calabria
Jawad Williams
Wayne Ellington
Rashad McCants
Brandan Wright
Sean May
White Team
Brendan Haywood
Raymond Felton
Bobby Frasor
Jackie Manuel
Jeff McInnis
Danny Green
Marvin Williams
Rasheed Wallace
Antawn Jamison
Jerry Stackhouse
The Blue team appears, in my opinion, deeper and has a 3-point shooting edge, but the White team should dominate inside and has more of the accomplished NBA players.
I’m most interested in how some of the young NBA faces fare against more elite players. In particular, a healthy Sean May will bang around with Brendan Haywood.
Oh yeah … there is that Raymond Felton-Ty Lawson thing — a frequent discussion for Tar Heel fans. And Harrison Barnes will be visiting, too.
