The R-Line makes 15 downtown stops during the workday and 19 after 6:30 p.m. To plot your restaurant visits in advance, go to www.godowntownraleigh.com/at-ease/dining, then mouse over the dots on the map until you get to the restaurant or bar you want. (Be sure to take into account that the bus travels only counter-clockwise; you don’t want to stand on the corner after four highballs and debate which way is clockwise.)
Say you want to go to the Remedy Diner: Click on the dot and you’ll get a quick list of the address, hours, district and cuisine. Right beneath that are two tabs: Where is it? will pop up a zoomed-in map, and What’s nearby? will instantly list the closest parking decks, parking lots and R-Line stops.
So … for the Remedy, disembark at stop R19 (Hargett Street at Wilmington Street), which is exactly 64 feet west of the restaurant’s entrance. Pretty cool.
