We’re not quite halfway through 2016, and Jenks Miller already has his third record on deck for the year. Mount Moriah, the band he co-leads with Heather McEntire, released How to Dance in March, and Miller’s new Blues from WHAT, from Jenks Miller & Rose Cross NC, isn’t even a week old. August will see the release of Dead Ringers, the latest LP from Miller’s metal-inclined Horseback. (Also, that cover!)
“Shape of the One Thing,” the first cut from the record, is a plodding, moderate track that finds Miller sliding back into his signature sludge. You can stream the song below.
While you do that, you can pre-order Dead Ringers here or read Miller’s thoughts on how Horseback fits among his many other musical projects. We’ll have a full review of the excellent Blues from WHAT in print and online tomorrow.
