And another one: Ringo Starr announced this afternoon that he has canceled his June 18 All Starr Tour show at the Koka Booth Amphitheatre in Cary due to HB 2.

“I’m sorry to disappoint my fans in the area, but we need to take a stand against this hatred,” the former Beatle, who played DPAC in 2014, said in a release. “Spread peace and love.”

Ringo then quoted Canned Heat (“Let’s work together”) and the Beatles (“All you need is love”), because of course he did. The full statement can be read here.

Starr is the second boomer hero in a week to cancel a major show. Last Friday, Bruce Springsteen called off his Greensboro show in protest of the law. Cyndi Lauper and Jimmy Buffett are totally totally coming, though.
