Fresh from a tour of the West Coast and Midwest, Brett Harris returned to Durham last week. The singer-songwriter opened for Joan Shelley at the Pinhook on a chilly Monday evening. His short set included a number of songs from his latest release, Mr. Sunshine. Harris, having toured extensively with the Big Star’s Third tribute over the past few years has returned with mostly original material on his EP release. Below are two clips from the evening’s performance including the finely crafted and melodic “Out of the Blue” and introspective tale “When You Get the Chance.” At the end of the month, Harris will head to New York for a string of dates including two day party performances during the CMJ Music Marathon.
