…and just like that, they’re gone. After a 30-minute set at The Pinhook in Durham, the garage-pop quartet Daddy Issues signed off for the last time in the Triangle. Nearly two years into their rise from an informal gathering of friends into a formidable quartet, the members’ lives took a turn, causing the group to split.
The week before, at least, the group was in Kernersville at Mitch Easter’s Fidelitorium, recording their last testament. As the packed crowd applauded one new song after another, the group kicked into their final number—a cover of The Pleasure Seekers’ “What a Way To Die.” It felt like a fitting end for the Greensboro band, who left the sold-out crowd wanting more.
