Get your datebook out, if you still have one: September tends to be a big month for Triangle music festivals, and Durham mainstay Art of Cool has just joined the queue. The festival will be held September 27-29th in downtown Durham; the Durham Bulls Athletic Park will serve as the primary venue, and additional event venues will include the Pinhook, Carolina Theatre, Motorco Music Hall, Durham Armory, and the Masonic Lodge.

Singer-songwriter and actor Jill Scott will headline the festival on the AOCFEST stage on Friday, September 27th, followed by a performance by Ari Lennox, who recently also performed at Dreamville. Also set to take the stage: Black Violin, DJ Skillz, Yolanda Rabun, Marcus Anderson, Omar, and DMC.

In a statement, Sulaiman Marcus, CEO of entertainemnt promotion company The Dome Group, which acquired AOC last year, says, “We are excited about the lineup and activities planned for AOCFEST 2019. We are working to become one of the top independent music festivals in the nation, to expand the festival’s mission and to deliver a great cultural experience for loyal Cooligans and newcomers alike.”
