The Wake County Sheriff’s Office just announced that an 89-year-old Wake Forest resident shot and killed a man who was allegedly trying to break into his home on Jordan Lane this past Saturday.
When responding deputies arrived in response to a call made at 6:20 that evening, Calvin Anderson Ray, the homeowner stated he had shot Jeffrey Mitchell, 47, who was lying deceased on Ray’s front porch.
The Wake County District Attorney’s Office is investigating the case. No charges have been filed.
