If you have a yearnin’ for Cajun music, check out the N.C. Museum of Art’s Annual Louisiana Dance Party, this weekend. Guests Steve Riley and the Mamou Playboys have continuously pushed the envelope of Cajun music, mixing up cultures like no other Louisiana band has done since the heyday of Clifton Chenier. Whatever they play, Riley’s virtuosity on the Cajun button accordion and David Greeley’s prowess on fiddle and sax make for an action packed evening of dancing from one of Louisiana’s best exports. Joining them are Nathan and the Zydeco Cha-Chas, who keep the dance floor hopping with red- hot Zydeco. Nathan is an inventive songwriter with a great sense of humor, as he demonstrates with his message songs like “Slow Horses and Fast Women.” He’s also a big fan of the other white meat and bills himself as the Zydeco Hog. $5-$15; 715-5923 for tickets.
