Author Inga Muscio wrote in her essay, “Abortion, Vacuum Cleaners and the Power Within,” that “the fight for human rights does not take place on some bureaucratic battleground. The real fight for human rights is inside each and every individual on this earth.” It naturally follows that the 20-something feminist writer, in her 1998 book Cunt: A Declaration of Independence, issues a call for all women to become the “cuntlovin’ ruler of her sexual universe.” Muscio–the music editor of W.I.G. (Women in General) magazine and a contributing writer for Bust and Curve–was greeted by a crowd of more than 300 people when she last came to the Triangle. She returns Thursday, Nov. 8, at 7:30 p.m. to read from new, unpublished material at UNC-Chapel Hill’s Carroll Hall, with a reception to follow at Internationalist Books in Chapel Hill.
