Meals on Wheels is a nonprofit organization, which provides home-delivered meals to elderly, disabled, blind, convalescing or malnourished adults. Started in 1975, the Durham chapter has served more than 1 million meals since its inception. On Saturday, Sept. 14, the organization will hold The Centerfield Festival, a benefit concert and picnic. The event will feature food and performances by local beach music group, Heart and Soul, the Durham Symphony Orchestra Brass Quintet, The TROSA Music Ensemble, and DJ Steve Wray.
