Jane Pope won’t get a dime from her late husband’s trust fund, a court ruled yesterday. The Triangle Business Journal reports that conservative John Pope and his two siblings set up a trust in 1986 that upon his death gave the funds to the Pope Foundation, which doles out dough to right-wing causes. Jane Pope unsuccessfully argued that a 2000 state law overrode the terms of the trust, worth millions. Looks like another failed case of trickle-down economics.
