This Friday at downtown Raleigh’s Cobblestone Hall, nine local craft breweries and more than forty local artisans will be participating in the first “Hops and Shop” market as part of First Friday.
“We’re dubbing it the craftiest market in North Carolina,” says Cristy Bullock, the event’s founder.
For ten dollars, attendees will get a pint glass and a punch card for ten beer samples from the participating breweries, while shopping the products local artisans will have for sale.
All the proceeds from ticket sales, and 10 percent of all additional beer sales, will go to the Pretty in Pink Foundation, a North Carolina non-profit which provides financial assistance to breast cancer patients who don’t have health insurance.
Tir Na Nog, Gigi’s Cupcakes and Crema will be giving out free hors d’oeuvres , deserts and coffee.
Participating breweries include:
Double Barley Brewing (Smithfield)
Deep River Brewing (Clayton)
Raleigh Brewing Company (Raleigh)
Gizmo Brew Works (Raleigh)
Crank Arm Brewery (Raleigh)
Mystery Brewing Company (Hillsborough)
White Street Brewing (Wake Forest)
Aviator Brewing Company (Fuquay-Varina)

The event will be held from 5 to 10 p.m. at 215 Wolfe Street, across from Woody’s City Market. Find out more at the Hops and Shop market website.
